SUMMARY:💻Chromebook Insurance Deadline
DESCRIPTION:Parents and students: go to risd.schoolpay.com. Once you log-in (using parent email associated with Focus)\, then all fees/programs (not just technology) will be in their ‘carts’. \nAll students should join the Device Repair and Replacement Program since it offers substantial savings to even routine repairs. Repair parts can get very expensive as compared to the cost of the premium. DRRP is $20 for each student. For students and families who qualify for the National School Lunch and Child Nutrition Program the cost will be $10. For those experiencing financial hardships\, please contact your campus administrator for payment options. \nDRRP open enrollment will be from August 1\, 2026 to September 14\, 2026– We appreciate your help in getting our students the device-protection they need. \nThis program covers accidental loss and damage of RISD student devices and stylus. The following coverage is provided:\nAccidental Damage of a Device:\n● DRRP covers device repair or replacement for accidental damage or non-negligent loss of device (see proof and terms below).\n● Any non-accidental damage or negligent loss of the device will be subject to the cost of the repair or full replacement cost of the device. Final determination will be made based on police reports\, repair technician evaluations and campus administrators.\n● If issued a stylus for an iPad\, this program covers one free replacement of any lost or damaged stylus.\nStolen or total-loss of Device:\n● DRRP covers a one-time replacement of the device\, charger and case/keyboard.\n● The device must be reported stolen or lost within 5 business days.\n● All missing devices must be reported to law enforcement and a police report # submitted where applicable. This report must reflect no negligence.\n○ Negligence can be defined as\, but not limited to\, any purposeful acts of destruction; leaving device unattended; not locking up device; forgetting where the device is (lost); or leaving device in vehicle overnight. All devices will be disabled by the district’s management system if not returned to the district.\n● Any student who has a device(s) covered by this program that was lost or stolen more than once will be subject to the full replacement cost of the second device. Exceptions can be made for extenuating circumstances.
