Students are expected to follow the District\u2019s dress and grooming guidelines, as well as any local standards established and approved by the Local School Council at each campus. Students and their parents\/guardians are charged with the responsibility of ensuring that modesty, appropriateness and neatness of dress are maintained. The principal and the person in charge of an extracurricular activity may determine the dress and grooming of students participating in the activity. An individual school\u2019s Local School Council may adopt alternative dress standards as long as they remain within the parameters of the District policy.<\/em><\/p>

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>

Basic Principle:<\/strong>\u00a0Certain body parts must be covered for all students at all times.<\/h4>

Clothes must be worn in a way that student private areas are fully covered. Undergarments should not be visible.\u00a0All items listed in the \u201cmust wear\u201d and \u201cmay wear\u201d categories below must meet this basic principle.<\/h4>

\u00a0<\/p>

1. Student must wear (while following the basic principle of Section 1 above):<\/strong><\/p>

  • Mask (gaiters and face shields are not allowed)<\/li>
  • A shirt with fabric covering the entire stomach\/midriff, back, and on the sides under the arms;<\/li>
  • Pants\/jeans or the equivalent of a skirt, sweatpants, joggers, leggings, dress, or shorts; and<\/li>
  • Shoes.<\/li><\/ul>

    \u00a0<\/p>

    2. Students may wear, as long as these items do not violate Section 1 above:<\/strong><\/p>

    • Religious headwear<\/li>
    • Fitted pants, including leggings, yoga pants, and skinny jeans<\/li>
    • Ripped jeans as long as underwear and private body parts are not exposed<\/li>
    • Athletic shorts\/ Skirts<\/li><\/ul>

      \u00a0<\/p>

      3. Students Cannot Wear:<\/strong><\/p>

      • Violent language or Images<\/li>
      • Images or language depicting\/suggesting drugs, vaping, alcohol, tobacco or paraphernalia (or<\/li>
      • any illegal tem or activity).<\/li>
      • Clothing that could interfere with the operation of the school and\/or disrupt the learning<\/li>
      • Environment<\/li>
      • No Sheer Materials<\/li>
      • Shirts that do not cover the full stomach or back; no crop tops<\/li>
      • Hate speech, profanity, or pornography<\/li>
      • Images or language that creates a hostile or intimidating environment based on any<\/li>
      • protected class or consistently marginalized groups.<\/li>
      • Any clothing that reveals visible undergarments (visible waistbands or visible straps are<\/li>
      • allowed)<\/li>
      • Any item that obscures the face or ears (except as religious observance)<\/li>
      • Swimsuits<\/li>
      • Accessories that could be considered dangerous or could be used as a weapon<\/li>
      • No bandanas of any color<\/li>
      • No hats\/hoodies on the head<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
