As a youngster growing up in south Louisiana, I always knew I’d grow up to be a teacher. My father was a teacher and my mother worked in the Guidance Office. I went off to college at Louisiana State University to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Just after graduation, I started my teaching career here in RISD 20 years ago at Apollo Junior High. While teaching at Apollo, I earned a second Master’s Degree in Educational Administration. Before landing at Dartmouth as Principal, I spent my time as a Literacy Coach, an Instructional Coach, and an Assistant Principal.

When I’m not at school, I love spending time with my family. My husband, 2 sons, and I spend lots of time at the baseball field and soccer field. We also enjoy watching LSU Football, LSU Baseball, and the New Orleans Saints! Lately, we have really enjoyed playing pickleball together as a family.

I absolutely love serving the students, staff, and families of Dartmouth Elementary. I’m so very excited for what the 2023-24 school year will bring! Game On and Level Up!

This year, I will embark on my 15th year in Richardson ISD and my 18th year in the education profession. I love the field of education and the work of supporting students, staff, and community. Education is not just my passion but an intrinsic part of my family.

I am married to my husband (Ron), who is an elementary school principal in Richardson ISD. We have three children who have all attended RISD schools. Our oldest son is a graduate of Richardson High School, and our two younger children attend schools in Berkner and Richardson feeder patterns.

My leadership style has always been to put relationships first. I believe in connections and relationships and lead with this mindset daily. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead and support the students, staff, and community of Dartmouth Elementary for another year.

Go Ducks! GameOn!
