Families of children suspected of having a disability from birth through age 21 should contact the district. Parents of children from birth to 4 years of age should call 469-593-7442, while parents of children ages 5 \u2013 21 should contact the neighborhood school or call 469-593-7488.<\/p>\n\n<p>Services are available to children who have a visual and\/or auditory impairment from birth through age two. The purpose of this notice is to provide information regarding the management plan RISD maintains ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and regulations related to asbestos containing building materials (ACBM).<br \/><br \/>As required by the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) and regulations issued by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), RISD has engaged an asbestos consultant agency to perform periodic reinspections at all RISD schools where ACBM may be located. The consultant agency and its inspectors are licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and accredited by the EPA. RISD uses information and recommendations obtained from those reinspections to develop ongoing plans and procedures to safely manage any asbestos-containing materials (ACM) in our schools.<br \/><br \/>RISD will abate (remove or contain) any ACBM that are encountered during any of the construction or renovation projects. RISD has retained experienced Asbestos Abatement Contractors who are licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services to perform the abatement work that will be required.<br \/><br \/>Copies of the Asbestos Management Plan and results of the reinspection for individual schools are on file at each school campus. The reinspection results for all schools and the Asbestos Management Plan also are maintained at the RISD Operations Center, Facilities Services Department, located at 1123 S. Greenville Avenue, Richardson, Texas 75081. The documents are available for public inspection during regular business hours.
