{"id":40703,"date":"2026-03-30T18:42:27","date_gmt":"2026-03-30T23:42:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/schools.risd.org\/JessHarbenES\/?p=40703"},"modified":"2026-03-30T18:42:30","modified_gmt":"2026-03-30T23:42:30","slug":"mcteacher-night","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/schools.risd.org\/JessHarbenES\/mcteacher-night\/","title":{"rendered":"McTeacher Night","gt_translate_keys":[{"key":"rendered","format":"text"}]},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The golden arches usually promise a quick meal, but recently they promised something much louder: the complete and utter takeover of the local McDonald&#8217;s by the <strong>Hawk Nation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">From the moment you pulled into the parking lot, you knew this wasn&#8217;t a standard Wednesday. The line of cars snaked out onto the main road, and the air was thick with the scent of salty fries and the unmistakable electricity of a school pep rally. Walking through those double doors was like stepping into a beautiful, high-decibel whirlwind. It seemed as though every family in the school had the same idea at the exact same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>The Lobby:<\/strong> A sea of school colors. Kids were darting between tables, showing off their Happy Meal toys like prized trophies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>The PlayPlace:<\/strong> A literal vertical jungle of screeches and laughter. If you looked closely, you could see the mesh shaking as a dozen students engaged in a high-stakes game of tag.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>The Counter:<\/strong> This was the heart of the &#8220;McTeacher&#8221; magic. The teachers were continuing to serve you behind and in front of the counter.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">It was loud. It was chaotic. It was, quite frankly, a sensory overload. But amidst the spilled soda and the constant &#8220;beep-beep&#8221; of the fryers, there was something deeply grounding about it. It was the sight of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Families sharing tables to eat, sometimes two or three families.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Parents catching up over soda while their kids burned off a week\u2019s worth of energy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Teachers stepping out from behind the counter to high-five students they\u2019d just seen in the classroom two hours prior.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\" id=\"p-rc_82b08be1a2d9efbb-33\">By the time the night wound down, the floors were a bit sticky and the staff looked hilariously exhausted, but the spirit of the <strong>Hawk family<\/strong> had never been stronger. We didn&#8217;t just show up for the burgers; we showed up for each other. It was messy, it was frantic, and it was perfectly us. Thank you for being there and supporting <strong>Jess Harben Elementary<\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Hawk Pride, supersized.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure
