Thank you to the families who attended. During the meeting, district leaders provided updates on construction progress, campus safety measures, traffic flow, and temporary adjustments to athletics, while reaffirming Richardson ISD’s commitment to maintaining a safe learning environment and keeping families informed throughout every phase of construction.

Construction Progress

District Facilities Services staff shared an overview of the project’s current phase and reviewed work completed during Summer 2026. Families learned that construction fencing has been installed and underground utility work for the new building continues. The existing school building will remain occupied throughout the Fall 2026 semester while construction progresses in designated areas. Temporary staff parking is being established, with final access from La Manga Drive pending City of Dallas approval. The existing bus loop will remain in operation during this phase.

Student Safety

Safety remains the district’s highest priority throughout construction. District staff reviewed multiple measures that have been implemented to maintain complete separation between students, staff, and construction activities. These include:

Secure construction fencing locked gates and privacy screening to be installed soon.

Required background checks and identification badges for all construction workers.

Controlled access to all construction areas.

Separate entrances and parking for construction personnel.

Daily safety inspections conducted by the construction management team.

Weekly coordination meetings between the contractor and campus leadership to address school activities and construction schedules.

Emergency exit plan and student muster points were also reviewed to ensure families understand that emergency procedures remain in place throughout construction.

Traffic and Campus Operations

Families received an overview of traffic patterns that will be in place for the 2026-27 school year. The presentation highlighted designated areas for bus transportation, parent drop-off and pick-up, visitor parking, staff parking, and student entrances. Construction traffic will remain separated from daily campus operations to minimize disruptions and maintain safe access for students and families.

Athletics

District leaders reviewed temporary adjustments to athletic facilities during construction. Football, soccer, track, volleyball, and basketball activities will continue at Park Hill Middle School during the 2026-27 school year. Tennis competitions will be held at Pearce High School.

Volleyball and basketball games will remain at Park Hill, while practices will take place at Park Hill or Brentfield Elementary as needed. Coaches will communicate specific practice schedules and locations after team selections and tryouts are finalized.

Looking Ahead

District leaders emphasized that student and staff safety will continue to guide every phase of construction. Families were encouraged to stay engaged as the project progresses, with additional parent meetings planned throughout the construction process. The next Parent Information Meeting is anticipated for November or December 2026.

The district also encouraged families to follow project updates through the Bond 2025 website and thanked parents for their continued partnership and support as Park Hill Middle School undergoes its transformation.

<p
