DESCRIPTION:Registration for the Fall 2026 PSAT/NMSQT® is open August 11–August 31\, 2026\, at 11:59 p.m. \nImportant Dates and Information \n\nRegistration: Aug. 11–31\, 2026\nCost: $18\nTest Date: Oct. 28\, 2026\nRISD Students: Testing will take place at your high school campus.\nHomeschooled Students: Testing will take place at Richardson High School. Additional test-day information will be sent to the email address provided during registration.\n\nWhy Should I Take the PSAT/NMSQT? \nThe PSAT/NMSQT is an opportunity for students to practice for the SAT\, identify areas for improvement and set academic goals for the future. \nFor juniors\, the PSAT/NMSQT is also the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Program. Students who earn qualifying scores may be recognized as Commended Students or Semifinalists and may ultimately be eligible for National Merit Scholarships. \nWhile freshmen and sophomores are not eligible for National Merit recognition based on their scores\, taking the PSAT/NMSQT earlier can provide valuable practice and help students prepare for their junior-year test. \nHow to Register RISD Students \nRegister and pay online \nHomeschooled Students \nTo register\, request accommodations and pay for the PSAT/NMSQT\, please contact Sharon Woodson at Sharon.Woodwon@risd.org \nRequesting Testing Accommodations \nStudents who receive testing accommodations through Section 504 or Special Education must complete the Accommodation Request Form by Aug. 31\, 2026\, so RISD can provide the student’s information to the College Board for consideration of possible testing accommodations. \nPlease note that accommodations for College Board assessments\, including the PSAT/NMSQT\, are determined by the College Board.
