The following students can be exempted from taking a final exam:
\u25cf Seniors in senior-level classes
\u25cf 9th-12th grade students in AP classes
\u25cf Students in STAAR-EOC tested classes<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In order to be exempted from an exam, students must meet the following criteria:
\u25cf Students must have 5 or fewer documented tardies in the class for Semester 2.
\u25cf Students must have 4 or fewer excused absences for Semester 2.
\u25cb No unexcused absences.
\u25cf Students must not have been placed in ISS, OSS, or CMLC for Semester 2.
\u25cf Minimum grade requirements:
\u25cb All students must have a final year grade of a 80 or higher.
\u25cb On-level STAAR-EOC and Senior Classes must have a 80 or higher for
S2.
\u25cb Advanced and AP classes must have an 80 or higher for S2. (Not
including quality points).
\u25cb Students in STAAR-EOC classes must have been present and sat for their
STAAR-EOC exam.
\u25cf In AP Classes, students must sit for AP exam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Notes:
\u25cf Attendance is required for all students on exam days regardless of exemption
status.
\u25cf Students may choose to take any final exam, if desired.
\u25cf AP teachers may have additional requirements for exemption.
\u25cf Absences that do NOT count against students for exemption:
\u25cb \u201cM\u201d- Documented medical appointments
\u25cb \u201cS\u201d- Documented school-related absences
\u25cb \u201cR\u201d- Documented religious holidays
\u25cb \u201cC\u201d- Documented college visits (11th and 12th graders)
