On October 28th, Pearce High School will be giving the PSAT and the TSI for those who have registered. Additionally, we will give a TELPAS simulation for those who will need to test in February; this will allow us to provide this important experience to students without otherwise interrupting instruction. Because we will have approximately 1,000 students testing for PSAT and TSI, there will be an alternate schedule for the day.\u00a0Please find the schedule for the day\u00a0here<\/a><\/strong>; links to student testing locations will be added no later than Monday, October 26th and shared with students through advisory.\u00a0\u00a0

For Parents:<\/strong>Because of the importance of these exams, we are unable to interrupt testing environments (except for emergency situations).\u00a0For this reason, please avoid scheduling appointments or picking students up from school early on this day.\u00a0Students will not have access to their email or cell phones while testing is in progress. If you have an emergency or need to get an urgent message to your student, please call the main office.\u00a0If your student brings lunch to school, please be sure to send lunch with your student on this day. We will not be able to deliver lunches to testing rooms and students will not be allowed to leave their testing room to get their lunch from the office.

All students who are testing need to:\u00a0<\/strong>Bring their student ID badge or other photo ID.Bring a charged chromebook.Note: These tests cannot be taken on personal computers.Report to their testing rooms by 8:55 AM.

TSIA Testers:\u00a0<\/strong>Will have lunch in the commons as usual during the lunch shift on the schedule.\u00a0Food and drink are not allowed in the testing room while testing occurs.More specific information will be provided to senior testers and parents via email from Candace Carollo.

PSAT Testers:\u00a0<\/strong>Will eat lunch in their testing rooms.\u00a0Students may bring their lunch or may order a sack lunch from the cafeteria.Students will NOT be allowed to pick up a lunch from the front office. Please be sure your students has their lunch whenever they arrive at school for the day.\u00a0May bring a quiet snack to eat during designated breaks only.

12th Graders\/Seniors:\u00a0<\/strong>All 12th graders will participate in \u201cAll Apply Day\u201d. During this time, counselors and staff will meet with students to help them apply for colleges and scholarships and prepare for their goals after graduation.\u00a0All 12th graders are expected to attend. Attendance will be taken.\u00a012th Graders who are not schedule for a 1st or 2nd period class may arrive at their normal arrival time. They will still be assigned a room and will be included in \u201cAll Apply Day\u201d!

9th-11th Graders who are NOT testing:\u00a0<\/strong>Students will learn-in-place until 2:00 PM. Assignments will be posted to Schoology for students to complete.\u00a0Students will have access to their Chromebooks. Per state law, students will not have access to their phones.
