Welcome to the website for Prestonwood Elementary! My name is Misti Lehman, Principal of Prestonwood Elementary. It is an honor to get to serve and lead this amazing campus filled with great educators and diverse and inquisitive students. My main focuses at PWE are safety, knowing our students, and ensuring high quality instruction for all. I love to greet students in the mornings, visit with them at lunch, and drop into their classes. It is truly a privilege to visit classrooms and witness the incredible things our students and teachers are doing daily, to share in the joys of student growth, and support the social and emotional development of our students. My goal is to play an active role in planning and supporting instruction by monitoring resources, time, and instructional practices to ensure that all students demonstrate academic growth. We have a great school community where students experience a safe, caring, and challenging environment. Our staff is diverse with a range of experiences to help connect and build relationships with all students, parents, and community members in order to promote overall student growth in academics and character. Assistant Principal Aaron Ward<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Mr. Ward brings experience and a passion for education to Prestonwood Elementary. With 20 years in public schools, including 6 at Prestonwood Elementary and 10 in Richardson ISD, he’s a dedicated educator who has made a lasting impact.<\/p>

Mr. Ward’s journey began as a student in Texas and Arkansas public schools, sparking his lifelong commitment to education. He graduated from Sulphur Springs High School and continued his studies at Baylor University’s School of Education, followed by a graduate degree from Lamar University in Education Administration.<\/p>

Throughout his career, Mr.Ward has worn multiple hats, from being an instructional coach to teaching social studies as a high school coach and serving as a curriculum specialist. His diverse roles have allowed him to contribute to the growth and development of both students and fellow educators.<\/p>

Mr. Ward’s connection to education goes beyond the classroom, as he has three children attending RISD schools. He understands the importance of creating a nurturing learning environment for all students.\u00a0 When he’s not shaping young minds, Mr. Ward enjoys quality time with his family, cycling adventures, and enjoying the art of BBQ.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
