Our fabulous Viking Chamber Orchestra recently took the stage for their Texas UIL state assessment. The ensemble achieved straight superior ratings for their prepared performance-the highest honor a group can receive. This means every judge on the panel recognized their technical skill, tone, and musicality as being at the top of their class.
The success continued into the sight-reading room, where the orchestra earned straight excellent ratings. Sight-reading is one of the most challenging aspects of a competition, requiring students to perform a brand-new piece of music they have never seen before with only a few minutes of study. Our students handled the pressure with poise and precision. They did a terrific job all the way through and represented North in exemplary fashion. We are so proud of these talented musicians and the hard work they put in to reach this level of excellence!
