We are incredibly proud of the Honors and Symphonic Bands for their standout performances last week at the UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation. The results were truly spectacular: BOTH ensembles earned unanimous 1st Division (“Superior”) ratings from every single judge on the panel. Between the concert stage and the sight-reading room, that adds up to 6 First Division ratings for our talented musicians! Performing for UIL requires a high level of technical skill and the ability to adapt to new music on the fly.
Fun Fact: This achievement is especially meaningful for our Symphonic Band (Non-Varsity), as this is the first time they have earned straight superior ratings since 2018!
This “Sweepstakes” level of success is a testament to the hours of practice, discipline, and teamwork our students have poured into their instruments this year. They represented North with professional poise and reminded everyone why our music program is so special.
Congratulations to all our band members and directors on this amazing achievement!
