October is one of the busiest and most exciting months in the RNJH Library, with a full calendar of activities designed to spark creativity, celebrate reading, and have a little fun along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Each week we\u2019ll be hosting Inktober drawing contests<\/strong>, where students create original artwork inspired by a set of official Inktober words. These drawings will be displayed in the library for everyone to enjoy, and students will have the chance to vote on their favorite entries. Each week\u2019s winner will receive a prize of a sketchpad and art pens, the perfect tools to keep their creativity flowing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We\u2019ll also be celebrating Teentober<\/strong>, a nationwide event that highlights all the ways teens can connect with libraries. Our Teentober challenges include a Database Challenge<\/strong> to help students sharpen their research skills, a Name That Villain contest<\/strong> to test pop culture knowledge, and a Two-Sentence Scary Story contest<\/strong>, where students craft chilling tales in just two sentences. For something lighthearted (and delicious), we\u2019ll also have a Guess How Many Candy Corns<\/strong> challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The excitement doesn\u2019t stop there\u2014October will also wrap up our Name That Icon contest<\/strong>, which has been running since September. The final rounds will take place during the first two weeks of the month, giving students one last chance to participate before the contest comes to a close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n With contests, prizes, and plenty of opportunities to get involved, October promises to make the RNJH Library the place to be. Whether students enjoy drawing, writing, researching, or simply having fun with friends, there\u2019s something for everyone this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
