We are so fortunate to have staff members who bring incredible dedication and deep wisdom to our school community every day. As our ESL Aide, Mr. Saeed Alsharif is an invaluable support for our emerging bilingual students and teachers, as well as a thoughtful mentor to his students. Drawing on his experience in martial arts and his daily work with students, he shared this powerful reflection on perseverance, growth, and finding inner strength:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Strength does not always announce itself. Sometimes, it is found in the quiet decision to stand once more, to take another step, and to face what lies ahead with courage. It lives in the moments when no one is watching–in patience, perseverance, discipline, and the belief that we are capable of becoming more than we were yesterday. Martial arts has taught me that the body may carry us forward, but it is the spirit within that gives us the strength to continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the classroom, I see the same strength taking shape every day. It is in the student who raises their hand despite uncertainty, the one who tries again after failure, and the one who chooses kindness when it would easier not to. As teachers, we do more than share knowledge; we help students discover the strength that has been quietly growing within them all along. Sometimes, our greatest job is simply yo help them see it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
