We are proud to celebrate that Richardson West Junior High Arts & Technology Magnet has been named a Certified National Demonstration Magnet School by Magnet Schools of America (MSA), a national recognition that honors exemplary magnet and theme-based schools across the country. Richardson West Junior High and MST Magnet are the first magnet schools in RISD to be certified and join the ranks of only 37 schools certified nationwide this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prestigious certification is awarded to schools that have established strong Standards of Excellence through defined evidence-based practices, reflection, and strategic action that provide high-quality, innovative learning experiences that support student achievement and opportunity available through school choice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

RWJH not only met the Standards of Excellence, but exceeded the criteria and will serve as learning models for magnets across the country to replicate as a Certified Demonstration School. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MSA certification process involves a rigorous evaluation based on five main pillars that define high-quality magnet programs, including: diversity, innovative curriculum and professional development, academic excellence, high-quality instructional systems, and family and community partnerships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
