Spring Creek Elementary’s Quilting Club won 3rd place in the creative arts competition at the State Fair of Texas! For the past two years Mrs. Alford hosted quilting club in the library after school. Laura Fleetwood and Katie Neef (now 7th graders) organized the projects and taught the participants to cut and sew their own quilt square. Later, they sewed them together to create one beautiful quilt. This year’s original design featured log cabin blocks in red, white, and blue. When sewn together they created a Texas flag. We are so proud of all the girls who participated and to Katie and Laura whose vision and dedication made it all happen. Together we can do great things!
