Goal-setting builds self-awareness and responsibility while encouraging resilience and growth.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Figurative Language &amp; Poetry \u2192\u00a0<strong>RISD Graduate Profile Connection:\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Critical Thinking\/Problem Solving<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong>\u00a0Exploring figurative language and poetry helps students interpret symbolism, metaphors, and imagery, strengthening their ability to think beyond literal meaning and appreciate creativity in expression.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Writing and refining personal narratives \u2192\u00a0<strong>RISD Graduate Profile Connection:Effective Communication<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong>\u00a0Crafting personal stories develops students\u2019 ability to express themselves clearly and connect with an audience.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Analyzing informational texts by identifying the author\u2019s purpose, main idea, and supporting details \u2192\u00a0<strong>RISD Graduate Profile Connection:Critical Thinking\/Problem Solving<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong>\u00a0This practice strengthens the ability to evaluate information, a skill needed for real-world problem solving.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Learning the difference between tone and mood and applying it to our reading \u2192\u00a0<strong>RISD Graduate Profile Connection:Real World Connections<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong>\u00a0Recognizing tone and
