Principal Becky Stevens

Dear WRE Families,

My name is Becky Stevens and I am honored to introduce myself to you as the principal of White Rock Elementary. You may recognize me because I was the assistant principal at WRE from 2013-2016 and got to know many of you during that time.

White Rock has always held a special place in my heart and I absolutely love the wonderful students, staff, parents, and community that make WRE such an amazing school. I am very excited to continue the work in building on the strong culture and climate at WRE!

I want to let you all know a little bit about me.  I began my teaching career right here in RISD in 2005 and taught at Yale Elementary for four years.  After that, I taught at Skyview Elementary for three years before becoming an Assistant Principal at RISD Academy for two years and then at WRE for two years. I was then the principal at Lake Highlands Elementary for two years.

I also grew up in the Lake Highlands community and cherish this area. My husband and I are thrilled to raise our family in Lake Highlands as well.

I want you to know that I care deeply for each student and family at WRE and am passionate about ensuring that every single student grows and succeeds at school and in life.

Assistant Principal Jennifer Nesbitt

Hello Seahawks!

My name is Jenn Nesbitt, and I am the new assistant principal here at White Rock Elementary. I am so excited to join this amazing team and to get to know and work with all of you throughout the year!

I grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, and attended the University of Arkansas (woo pig!), where I earned a Master of Science in Childhood Education with a specialization in Gifted Education. After a few years of teaching, I went back to school and earned a Master of Science in Educational Leadership.

My entire educational career has been with Richardson ISD, as I previously worked at Carolyn Bukhair Elementary, teaching kindergarten, 3rd grade, and 5th grade. I am thrilled to be at White Rock this year and to serve this wonderful community!

Assistant Principal Ashley Hayes

I am honored to be the assistant principal at White Rock Elementary. I have been in education for over 20 years. I spent the majority of those years teaching various grade levels of RLA. I have also taught Gifted and talented and was an Instructional Coach. I have been a mentor lead, English department head, drill team coach, and sat on many leadership committees.

My family and I moved here from Louisiana five years ago. My husband and I have 5 children ranging in ages from 27 down to 17. Our oldest is a nurse, one in law school, one is in college to be an English teacher, the second to last is in nursing school, and our 5th is a senior in high school! I have enjoyed every minute of their journey and love having a large family; there is never a dull moment! I thoroughly enjoy getting to put my education as well as my parental experience to work in a profession that I love. Thank you for accepting me into your tight knit community. I relish in the parental involvement and the rich traditions of White Rock Elementary! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your children’s educational journey!
