    Academic Decathlon

    • The United States Academic Decathlon® is a ten-event scholastic competition for teams of high school students.  Each high school enters a team of nine students: 3 Honor students (3.750 - 4.00 GPA), 3 Scholastic students (3.00 - 3.749 GPA), and 3 Varsity students (0.00 - 2.999 GPA).  The theme for the 2018–2019 Academic Decathlon is The 1960s: A Transformational Decade.

    Auto Tech Skills USA

    • We compete in the Automotive and several Leadership Contests at the District and State Level. See SkillsUSA.org for information about the CTSO. Members are eligible to attend SEMA as seniors.
    • Club typically meet Tuesdays or Thursdays and both days as we get closer to contest.
    • Club President is Samuel Howard.  Vice- President is Navid Alam. Secretary/Treasurer is Edgar Angel Pena.

     

    Carousel of Roses

    • The club raises funds and serves our school and community to plan and host an annual spring formal for junior and senior students.
    • The club meets every day during 4th period with the senior co-chairs and about once a month with our junior and senior committee members.  

     

    Choir

    • We are not really a club, because all of our members are in our classes, so we don’t meet outside of school, except for rehearsals and concerts.  We have about 230 members this year in 6 classes.

    • Co-Presidents are Ruby Briseno and Chelsea Cohen.

     

    Computer Club

    • An organization for all things related to computer science, programming, cybersecurity, and technology.
    • Sponsored by Mr. Vo
    • No president; everyone is treated equally and has the same voice in club matters.
    • Official informational meetings are Wednesdays at 4:20 PM in C219.

     

    DECA

    • Organization that is co-curricular, that trains Entrepreneurs and future leaders in Business, Marketing, Finance, and Hospitality & Tourism.

    • Club meets at least once a month in C101 in the morning and during lunches.

     

     

    Eagle Guard

    • Eagle Guard is a spirit organization that provides leadership, representation of RHS, and encourages student participation and athletic and other RHS events. Eagle Guard is a closed group, for Juniors and Seniors, with tryouts every spring. We have a roster of 12-13 depending on tryouts and two captains, chosen by an interview with me.
    • 2018-19 Captains are Eli Tracy and Cameron Washington
    • Club meets after school as needed to plan skits for the pep rallies. Otherwise, we attend all football games (home and away) and several boys basketball games.

     

    E-Sports Club

    • The official competitive gaming organization at Richardson High School.
    • Sponsored by Mr. Schmidlkofer
    • We have captains, and it depends which game we're asking.
    • Meetings vary depending on season as we try not to hold meetings the same day as a certain game competition.



     

    International Thespian Society

    • We have activities for kids who enjoy theatre, do community service (Trick or Treat for Kids to Eat), etc..

    • Club President is Morgan Peterson
    • Club meets in the black box or the auditorium every other Tuesday.

    Japanese Club

    • Students do various cultural activities, such as, calligraphy, dance, cooking, watching movies, participating in cultural events, etc.

    • Club President is  Moemi Kinjo
    • Club meets every Tuesdays, 4:15 pm-5:15 pm in B113.

     

    Mu Alpha Theta

    • Mu Alpha Theta is a national mathematics honor society founded in 1957 by Dr. and Mrs. Richard V. Andree. Its main goals are to inspire keen interest in mathematics, develop strong scholarship in the subject and promote the enjoyment of mathematics. Members must have completed two credit-bearing math courses and have an overall average of at least 85, including quality points, in their math courses. Members are expected to complete 30 math-related service hours before graduation to earn the Mu Alpha Theta cord.

    National Honor Society

    • National Honor Society.  NHS strives to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop character in the students of secondary schools.
    • Our NHS President is Jessica Basurto
    • Our club meets monthly in room D250 during lunches.

     

    National Art Honor Society

    • National Honor Society is an organization where artists of various backgrounds meet and connect through social gatherings. Our primary purpose is to support creative individuals with a community that shares the same passion about art.
    • Sponsored by Ms. Krusleski and Ms. Rifkin
    • Club president is Tania Kadar.
    • Club typically meet every other Monday in C108.  
    • Dues are $5.00

     

     

    Seniors 2019

    • Our main goal for the year is planning the class of 2019’s prom. We visit venues, organize fundraisers, and plan fun activities for the senior class. Jessica Basurto is the president.

    • The Senior Class Officers meet in C208 during 4th period every day.

     

     

    Speech and Debate

    • The club is a formal contest of argumentation between two teams or individuals.  Students work to improve their argumentation, public speaking, organization, and research skills.
    • Club has 7 team captains
    • Club practices 1-2 per week and competitions are approximately twice a month during debate season (September-March)

     

    Student Council

    • Goal to serve diligently for our community. We strive for leadership to touch the lives of anyone and everyone possible. Through service projects, drives, and donations, we hope to spread enthusiasm for service to the world around us. Together as a team, we have the opportunity to not only obtain service hours, but also to give back to our community while having a great time and building relationships with each other.

    Teens Offering Peer Support (TOPS)

    • To reach and connect as many students as possible to their social and academic potential; to provide and teach effective supporting behaviors for their peers; to cross multi-cultural barriers through learning and experience; and to model positive life choices for conflict management and goal setting.

    Writers Guild

    • Writers’ Guild is a student led writing club. Writers’ Guild exists to offer instruction, encouragement and practice with writing fiction. Every spring we host a writing contest open to all RHS students with prizes awarded to the top three entrants. This club is open to all RHS students of any grade level with an interest in creative writing.
    • 2018-19 Club officers are Dusty Hill and Emma Dennis
    • The club meets weekly on Friday from 4:15-5:15 in room D273
