Welcome to Carolyn G. Bukhair Elementary
Our school is named after Dr. Carolyn G. Bukhair, who served for 37 years as an educator and 29 years with RISD. In 1999, she was distinguished as the Texas Association of School Librarians' Administrator of the Year. She was also the Region 10 Superintendent of the Year for 1999 and was one of five finalists for the State Superintendent of the Year award in both 1999 and 2003. Dr. Bukhair presided over many years of improvement and progress for the district, and was instrumental in bringing the AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination) program to Richardson.
