Welcome to Carolyn G. Bukhair Elementary 

Hi! My name is Anabel Ruiz. and I am honored to serve as the new principal at Carolyn G. Bukhair for this coming school year. I have been in the education field for 11 years, and during that time I have served as a teacher and principal. I spent the last five years of my career in Dallas ISD as a principal of a bilingual campus.

I was raised in Zacatecas, Mexico and came to Texas as a teenager. I am the first one in my family to graduate from college, and I strongly believe in the power of education. My goal is to ensure that all of our children at Carolyn Bukhair Elementary perform at high levels.

I received a bachelor's degree in International Business with a minor in French and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from The University of Texas at Arlington. I continue to push myself to grow and improve my skills to be a more effective leader. I'm currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from Southern Methodist University.

My husband and I spend our free time dancing, playing, and chasing our two toddler girls. We are raising our girls in Richardson, and we look forward to our girls joining our RISD community soon. I look forward to getting to know you, serving you, and making a positive impact in our community.

¡Hola! Mi nombre es Anabel Ruiz y es un honor servir como la nueva directora de la escuela Carolyn G. Bukhair el próximo año. He pasado los últimos 11 años trabajando en educación, como maestra y directora. Los últimos cinco años, he sido directora de una escuela bilingüe en Dallas ISD.

Fui criada en Zacatecas, México y llegué a Texas durante mi adolescencia. Soy la primera en mi familia en graduarse de la universidad y profundamente creo en el poder que tiene una buena educación. Mi meta es asegurarme de que todos los niños el Carolyn G. Bukhair tengan alto rendimiento.

Recibí una licenciatura en Negocios Internacionales con un énfasis en Francés y una maestría en Liderazgo Educacional de La Universidad de Texas en Arlington. Continuo esforzandome para desarrollar mis destrezas para ser una mejor líder. Actualmente estoy completando mi doctorado en Liderazgo Educacional en Southern Methodist University.

Mi esposo y yo pasamos nuestro tiempo libre bailando, jugando y correteando a nuestras niñas de 1 y 2 años. Las estamos criando en Richardson y esperamos pronto se puedan unir a la comunidad de Richardson ISD.

Espero conocerlos, servirles y hacer un impacto positivo en nuestra comunidad.
