  • School Cafeteria:

Food Service: Breakfast and lunch are served in the cafeteria each day. Applications for free and reduced-price breakfast and lunches are sent home with all students at the beginning of the year; however, the fastest way to apply is to use the website www.SchoolLunchApp.com. The free and reduced lunch application is now in a language other than English or Spanish.  If you go to the Free and Reduced Lunch Online site www.schoollunchapp.com and click on other in the upper right hand corner it will give you a links to a pdf of the application in 33 different languages. The translated application is not online, but you may print a copy or copies in the languages you need. These online applications are processed in a matter of days, while paper applications can take up to 30 days to process. Paper applications must be returned by the deadline stated and approved before your child can begin receiving free meals. Again, online applications are usually returned in a few days while paper applications may take up to 30 days. Students must bring money to pay for breakfast and lunch while the application processes. A printed menu is sent home at the beginning of the school year that includes all meals for the year. It can also be found on the district website. Students can bring a lunch and beverages from home. However, no soft drinks are allowed unless the parent brings them in and eats with the child. It is important for students to eat a healthy lunch on a daily basis.

Students will be limited to purchasing 1 snack in the cafeteria. Meals may be prepaid in the school cafeteria (between 7:30am - 8:00am) or online on the district website. Parents are encouraged to keep track of how much money is in the student’s account.  Paypams.com is an electronic way to pay and keep track of transactions.

    Lunch with Students:

Parents are welcome to eat lunch in the cafeteria with their children.  Here are some guidelines for eating with your child in the Terrace Cafeteria:

    • Parents are invited to eat with students during their regularly scheduled lunch period.

    • All visitors must check in at the office using a valid state identification such as a drivers license.

    • We ask that parents eat only with their own child and may not invite other children to eat with them.

    • Parents and their children will eat at the tables on the stage.

    • Young children must stay with their parents at all times and cannot run around on the stage or in the cafeteria.

    • Lunch is a wonderful opportunity for students to socialize with their friends. Parents, please limit your lunch visits to special occassions and/or 2 times per week at most to allow your child time to socialize and visit with friends. Eating with your child often may interfere with his or her opportunities to develop independence and friendships.

    • Please remember that it is never appropriate to give food to students other than your own child.  Many children have life-threatening food allergies and giving food to children who are not your own may put those children at risk.
