Dear Forest Lane Academy Community,
It is with great enthusiasm that I have accepted the position as the next principal of Forest Lane Academy. I joined the Forest Lane Family three years ago as an assistant principal. Mrs. Liner has been an amazing leader over the last 4 years, and I have learned a lot working alongside her and the fantastic staff of Forest Lane Academy. The staff and community of Forest Lane Academy are outstanding and I'm honored to be trusted as your next servant leader.
While many of you know me, I'd like to share a little bit about my family and experience. My spouse and I have three children Joseph 15, Madison 14, and Parker 10. They just completed 4th, 8th, and 9th grade. I strongly believe that in order for schools to achieve continuous improvement, staff and community must be a part of the ongoing process, looking for better and innovative ways to reach all students. I've taught 3rd and 5th grade self-contained in both Lancaster ISD and Dallas ISD. I served as an instructional coach, assistant principal, and principal in Dallas ISD. I'm so grateful for the range of experiences that will contribute to this next role for me as the instructional leader of Forest Lane Academy. I enjoy traveling with my family and eating at different burger restaurants while on vacation.
I am looking forward to serving the Forest Lane Academy community and the brilliant staff and students. We have so many wonderful things happening at Forest Lane Academy. My goal is to expand the level of success as we move forward. I will continue our partnerships with stakeholders, parents, teachers, and students by listening to your feedback and working collectively to continue making Forest Lane Academy a superior school for learning.
DeMarcus Goree-Watkins M.Ed.
