The RISD Excellence in Education Foundation works to provide funding for programs that support excellence in teaching and high-achieving schools.
Our Focus
Results –driven programs producing high-achieving students.
Education GrantsIn award-winning schools, teacher learning is continuous, multifaceted, data-driven and focused on the school’s identified goals. Finding, creating and continuously refining better ways to teach required skills results in high achievement. Having the supplies and program materials that result in better understanding and retention of new knowledge also leads to academic success.
Ensuring Excellent Educators (E3) GrantsClassroom Materials Grant
Knowing that many teachers voluntarily spend personal funds for supplemental materials to enhance their instruction, the Foundation provides grants to teachers to reimburse such personal purchases.
Professional Development Grant – Individual
To support instructional staff who wish to improve their teaching knowledge and skills, the Foundation provides grants to selected individuals who are taking professional development courses.
Professional Development Grant – Campus level
In recognition of the value of team building and staff development at the building level, the Foundation provides grants to principals in order to implement staff development and activities that are designed to substantially affect instructional quality, staff morale and the functioning of the staff as a team.
Technology Grants
Grants are provided for technology that improves student understanding and performance and also to increase efficiency. These grants need to be approved by the principal or employee supervisor and also the technology department.
Persons who wish to be eligible for selection must submit an E3 grant form which can be downloaded here.
