WHEN TO KEEP YOUR CHILD HOME FROM SCHOOL
WHEN TO KEEP YOUR CHILD HOME FROM SCHOOL:
-they have vomiting and/or diarrhea.
-they are running a fever of 100.4 of higher, or have been running a fever anytime within the last 24 hours. Then be sure to keep them home until their fever has been below 100.4 for at least 24 hours, without the assistance of fever reducing medication. Remember, this medication does not get rid of the virus, it only decreases the associated fever for a short while, usually about 4-6 hours.
Remind your student to cover their cough or sneeze by coughing and sneezing into their elbows. Also, help them to practice frequent hand washing to prevent the spread of germs.
