Color Condition Artists Visit ACM!

The Color Connection

ACM was thrilled to welcome local artists from The Color Condition to our school this spring. The Color Condition is an artistic duo who have created art installations at South by Southwest (SXSW), NorthPark Centre, and the Nasher Sculpture Center. Now they have brought their talents to ACM!

In February, students kickstarted our annual campus wide art integration project by collecting recycled materials in any shade of their house color: green (Saker), pink (Aplomado), yellow (Lanner), or blue (Peregrine). Materials collected included pieces of fabric, ribbon, bubble wrap, old house shirts, even plastic tablecloths! Each piece was cut to be 2 inches wide and 3 feet long.

On March 18th, the Color Condition artists came to meet our students and demonstrate their style during two assemblies. Then students each added a piece of recycled material to their own class grid. Volunteers helped to tie the fabric and the end result is outstanding!

Checkout the final product on ACM’s front porch now through Earth Day on April 22nd!
