What is Classical Learning?

Arapaho Classical Magnet is founded on an educational principle first practiced by the ancient Greeks:  that a complete education must address the complete student.  Our educational experience extends beyond the academic to encompass and nurture the mind, body, and character as equal parts of the whole student.  We interconnect academic, artistic, and real life components through seven years of a rigorous, classical education and prepare capable citizens with a strong academic foundation, a positive self-concept, and an understanding of their responsibilities within the larger community.

Media is the Wings of Civilization’s Communication

Technology has always been the expression of human comprehension of science and math, the outward sign of civilization’s progress.  The polymaths of history combined math, science, history, linguistics and all the arts as they applied the past to their modern thinking and experience.  Theatre does the same and connects to the modern world with echoes from the past.

Every civilization has taken small steps forward in their learning when they use past as prologue.  Moreover humankind often leaps ahead as technology catapults us into a renaissance, a new way of perceiving our world.

Robotics is the technology of our modern age, our 21st Century Renaissance.

Art establishes the basic human truths which must serve as the touchstone of our judgment.
