Richard is our custodian at Lake Highlands Elementary and goes above and beyond every day to make connections with our students.
Students greet him all day long while in the hallway and give him high fives and hugs. Every morning, Richard can be found in the cafeteria during breakfast, talking with kids while he does his morning cleaning routine.
He has made a special connection with a fourth grader who he allows to shadow him between 7:30 and 7:50 every morning. Richard exudes the RISD spirit. He recognizes the needs of students not only by helping them with their daily messes but with his desire to help out any and all in any way he can.
Richard does a wonderful job of keeping our campus clean and safe, and we are so lucky to have him on our campus.
