Principal Dr. Rebecca Herrera
Dr. Rebecca Herrera serves as the proud principal of Stults Road Elementary, bringing a wealth of instructional experience, passion, and a deep commitment to student success. A Dallas native, her career in education spans roles as an elementary classroom teacher, instructional coach, and campus administrator. Her leadership and proven track record in driving student achievement and fostering staff development earned her the distinction of being named Richardson ISD’s Assistant Principal of the Year. Dr. Herrera holds a Doctorate of Education in Leadership and Learning in Organizations from Vanderbilt University, a double Master’s degree from Dallas Baptist University, and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of St. Thomas.
Grounded in the core values of excellence, empowerment, and equity, Dr. Herrera’s mission is to ensure high levels of learning for every student, every day, while cultivating a campus anchored in belonging, consistency, and cohesiveness. She is dedicated to building a strong school culture rooted in trust, empowering educators to grow in their practice, and prioritizing meaningful family engagement to strengthen the school-community partnership. Above all, she is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment where every student can thrive. Outside of school, Dr. Herrera enjoys spending time with her husband and their two boys, especially exploring the outdoors and taking family road trips.
Assistant Principal Nancy Sal
Nancy Sal serves as an assistant principal with a strong background in education and instructional leadership. She brings 15 years of classroom teaching experience and two years of administrative experience in Richardson ISD. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to supporting students, empowering teachers, and fostering positive learning environments where all learners can thrive.
Ms. Sal earned her bachelor’s degree from Baylor University and her master’s degree from Texas A&M University–Commerce, where she built the foundation for her passion for education and student success. She believes every child has the potential to achieve great things when provided with the support, encouragement, and opportunities needed to grow.
In her personal time, Ms. Sal enjoys spending quality time with her husband and their three children. She also enjoys cooking, baking, and gardening. Ms. Sal values family, community, and the simple joys of home life, which inspire and bring balance to her work as an educator and leader.
Assistant Principal Melissa Davis
Melissa Davis serves as an assistant principal at Stults Road Elementary. Her career in education spans 16 years, all within Richardson ISD. She began in the classroom as a Kindergarten teacher at Yale Elementary, focusing on helping students build a foundation in reading. Later, serving as an Instructional Coach at Hamilton Park, a Reading Academy Coach for administrators, and an Academic Facilitator for the Lake Highlands Learning Community allowed her to hone her skills in campus and district leadership. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Abilene Christian University and a master’s degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce, both of which shaped her approach to instructional leadership.
Ms. Davis believes that every student possesses potential and deserves an environment that supports their success. She is committed to partnering with teachers and families to grow students so they can meet and exceed their academic growth goals. Outside of school, Ms. Davis enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and traveling with friends.
