Principal Jennifer Martin
My name is Jennifer Martin, and my husband, Steve, and I have been married for 26 years. We have three children. Our son, Alex, graduated from Pearce High School and is a Senior at the University of Oklahoma. Our daughter, Abby, will be starting her Senior year at Pearce and is a member of the Pearce Pacesetters and Mustang Stampede. Our youngest daughter, Kate, will be starting her 8th grade year as a cheerleader at Parkhill Junior High.
I am thrilled to serve as Principal in a district I respect and value. I started my career in RISD upon graduating from Stephen F. Austin. I began as a teacher at Terrace Elementary while working to obtain my Master’s degree in Administration. I then became the Assistant Principal of Dover Elementary before transitioning into Principal at Merriman Park Elementary, Mark Twain Elementary, and Spring Creek Elementary.
After several years serving as a Principal, I stepped into a consultant role with Region 10 working in the area of Supervision and Leadership Development. For the last 8 years, I’ve had the opportunity to support aspiring and new Principals. I specialize in trainings and delivering content related to:
- Texas Teacher Appraisal Support System (TTESS),
- Texas Principal Appraisal Support System (TPESS)
- Advanced Educational Leadership (AEL)
- Student Learning Objectives (SLO)
- Educator Prep Programs (EPP)
I always worked with UTD as a Field Supervisor supervising Apprentice Teachers assigned to RHS and BHS.
Serving as a Consultant and a Field Supervisor has brought me so much joy as I learned about all the great things happening across schools in Texas. The more I connected with other districts, the more my heart missed the one district I’ve always called home. I missed working directly with students and teachers, supporting their growth, and cheering on their progress.
My heart is now ready to explode, realizing I get to do this once again at Canyon Creek Elementary!
Principal Ashlee Baker
Dear Parents,
How exciting that we are starting off another new school year here at Canyon Creek Elementary! This will be my fifth year here at Canyon Creek and my third year serving as the campus principal. My husband and I have been married for nine years now, and this year both of my sons will attend CCE. Ames will be in second grade and Abbott will be in the Pre-K4s. As a mother myself, I always try to see school matters through the lens of a parent. I know that parents want to feel connected to their child’s school, communicated with, and comforted that their children are safe and in good hands during the school day. I do not take it lightly that you entrust us with your precious children daily. The CCE staff has worked to create a new school mission statement that we truly believe reflects the way we feel about working with our students.
Canyon Creek Mission Statement
At Canyon Creek Elementary we will engage all learners and cultivate meaningful relationships in a collaborative, supportive environment that fosters academic achievement, emotional intelligence and growth for every learner.
Every teacher at CCE believes in this work and is committed to bringing our mission statement to life with every interaction that we have with your child. I hope that I have had the privilege to get to know you and your family. If we have not connected personally, I would love for you to reach out and introduce yourself! One of the benefits of being at a smaller school is that I am given the opportunity to truly know each child and what makes them special and unique.
Our teachers have been working hard this week to finish preparing for our students that come next Tuesday. Here at Canyon Creek we know that your child will only get one first day of school for the 2023-2024 school year. Whether your child will be starting kindergarten or entering sixth grade, we want it to be the best first day and school year ever!
Please know that I am available any time and encourage you to reach out so that we can connect.
Sincerely,
Ashlee Baker
CCE Principal
