We are thrilled to announce Mr. Matt McGee as our CCE Teacher of the Year!
Mr. McGee exemplifies exactly what it means to be an exceptional educator. He is kind, patient, and always meets students exactly where they are. He takes the time to understand each learner, gently encourages them, and helps them grow with confidence. His classroom is a place where every student feels supported, valued, and capable.
Congratulations, Mr. McGee! You are so deserving of this recognition!
RISD elementary students may test once per year to determine if they qualify for gifted/talented (GT) services. The window to refer your child/ren for testing opens September 29, 2026 and closes October 13, 2026.
The 2025-2026 Texas Education Agency (TEA) accountability results officially released today, confirm what we’ve been working toward — RISD’s continued growth and student progress have moved the district to a B rating!
The safety of students, staff, and visitors is a top priority in RISD. We have several proactive measures in place to provide a safe and nurturing school environment that promotes student academic growth.
