About Our School

Welcome to Greenwood Hills, where we've been busy developing young minds for over 50 years!

Greenwood Hills Elementary School is located in an established neighborhood of single-family homes in the northwest area of the Richardson Independent School District. The school is surrounded by quiet, tree-lined streets and the playground is adjacent to a park.

In addition to classes for kindergarten through sixth grade students, Greenwood Hills is the home to one of the district’s Development Programs which serves students with physical and cognitive challenges. Students in the program are included in mainstream classes as much as possible, enhancing the educational opportunities for all of our students.

The school’s professional, caring staff provides an excellent instructional program tailored to meet the needs of each child. Students are encouraged to excel and to support each other in group and individual endeavors. Parents and other community volunteers participate in a variety of activities, and their involvement is vital to the success of our school. We believe that Greenwood Hills truly is a great place to “expand your wings and fly like an eagle.”

Mission Statement

Greenwood Hills Elementary will foster 21st century learners who will become self directed learners and responsible decision makers through collaboration and the continued development of the school wide enrichment model.

Academics

Greenwood Hills is a K-6 campus, with bilingual classes offered in K-3. Additionally, ESL serves K-6 students who need some language support. All students participate twice weekly in music and PE and have art classes once a week. Resource and speech teachers serve the needs of students on our campus who qualify to receive these services.
