$2,128.00 In Scholarships Awarded!
Dear Jess Harben Families and Community,
As we wrap up a truly memorable school year, we are filled with pride and gratitude as we share the impact of the Heart of Harben Memorial Scholarship, created to honor the legacy of Jennie Lewis. Jennie was a beloved member of our school family who exemplified kindness, compassion, and unwavering support for others. Her spirit continues to live on in our halls and hearts as we lift up students who show those same beautiful traits with the Heart of Harben Award.
This year, with your incredible support, we raised $2,143.00 through Heart of Harben T-shirt sales, generous donations, our Chick-fil-A Family Night, and the ever-popular Slime Run! Because of your generosity, we were able to award $2,128.00 in scholarships to deserving students whose actions reflect Jennie’s legacy of love and service.
These scholarships have opened doors to a wide variety of enriching opportunities for our students. This year’s recipients will be attending programs such as:
- Japanese Lessons
- Kumon Math & Reading
- Skylark Camp
- Dallas Zoo’s Beauties and Beasts Camp
- St. Yared Academy
- Fencing Camp
- Swimming Lessons
The reactions from our scholarship recipients were absolutely priceless. To celebrate the moment, a group of Heart of Harben committee members, joined by our beloved Harben Hawk, danced into each recipient’s classroom while Pharrell’s “Happy” played loudly through the hallways. Students beamed with joy as we made our way to each class—smiles stretched from ear to ear, and the excitement was contagious! It was a powerful reminder of how one opportunity can light up a child’s world.

As summer approaches, we look forward to seeing how these experiences will help our students grow—emotionally, intellectually, athletically, and spiritually. After the summer, we’ll share impact letters and photos from our scholarship recipients, and we can’t wait to hear all about their adventures and accomplishments.
The 2024–2025 school year was an incredible success, and we’re already looking forward to what we can accomplish together in 2025–2026.
