MRS. CHRISTINA MERTA
Library & Information Technology Educator
Hello! My name is Mrs. Merta. I have been in education for over ten years, five of which were in the classroom as a second grade teacher and my remaining years have been in the library. I am married with one little girl named Evelyn and have three very silly dogs who are my fur babies! I grew up in the Richardson Independent School District as a child and always knew I wanted to give back to the community that gave so much to me. I even began my teaching career in my former elementary school.
I believe elementary libraries are the best place to be! We get to have so much fun celebrating reading, integrating technology into lessons, and creating fun projects with research. Jess Harben Hawks get to enjoy so many great projects during the year including STEM projects with coding and robots or building projects to create solutions. I love to take a regular lesson and gamify (create a game out of) it to bring enjoyment and make the lesson stickier! I look forward to working with you and your students!
