About Our School
Welcome to Northwood Hills Elementary!
Dear Northwood Hills Elementary School Community,
It is with great pleasure and excitement that I introduce myself as the new principal of Northwood Hills Elementary. I am honored to join this remarkable community and look forward to working alongside you to create an environment where every child is successful academically and socially.
My entire career has been spent proudly serving the staff, families, and communities in Richardson ISD for 18 years. I began my journey as a classroom teacher and then an instructional coach at Audelia Creek Elementary. For four years I worked as the instructional coach at Spring Valley Elementary. From 2018-2020 I had the privilege of being an area academic facilitator for the Richardson Learning Community where I got to support and form strong relationships with the staff at Northwood Hills. In 2020 I became the assistant principal at Bowie Elementary where I have served for four years.
I love being part of the RISD community and am privileged to be raising my family here. I have been married to my husband Zach for 17 years, and we have a 14-year-old son, Caden who attends Richardson High School, and a 12-year-old daughter, Ryleigh who will be starting her junior high journey next year at Richardson West.
I am passionate about learning and providing students opportunities to find their passions and gifts while preparing them for their future. I look forward to meeting and working with Northwood Hills staff, students, families, and the community as I transition into my new role and begin planning for an amazing 2024-2025 school year.
Please know that my door is always open to you. As a leader, I firmly believe in the power of positive relationships and welcome partnerships, conversations, and input. I am excited to get started serving the Falcon community.
Sincerely,
Jenni Smith
