New to 2026-27 Language Learning Program

NWHE New Language Program

Language Learning Program Coming to Northwood Hills

Northwood Hills will offer a Language Learning Program starting next school year. The program will offer two pathways designed to expand access to Spanish enrichment opportunities, support biliteracy development, and strengthen academic outcomes for all students. The program is grounded in research and aligned to district goals around early literacy and student achievement.

Pathways:
Two-Way Dual Language for students in grades Pre-K and Kinder.

The enrichment and application-based program includes an equal number of native speakers of Spanish and native Speakers of English. Students will have the opportunity to become bi-literate, bilingual, and bicultural scholars. Instruction is provided in English and Spanish and language learning is integrated with content instruction as they progress through elementary years.

Upon applying, Pre-K and Kinder students will be selected to NWH’s Two-Way Dual Language Pathway through a lottery-based program.
