Principal Kathryn Mottram
I am the adoring aunt to six amazing nieces and nephews whose love of learning inspires me every day. I want every student, just like them, to come to school excited, be intentionally challenged in meaningful ways, and experience something great each and every day. That belief has guided my entire career in public education, where I have served as an advocate for student voice, teacher collaboration, and family engagement.
I began teaching in 2006 at Lake Highlands High School as a French teacher, including AP French, and later served as an Instructional Coach. In 2014, I became an Assistant Principal at Pearce High School, followed by Highland Park High School in 2016.
In 2020, I proudly became the principal of Westwood Junior High. It truly felt like coming home, not only because I returned to Richardson ISD, a district I deeply love, but also because when my family moved to Texas from Canada, we settled in Northwood Hills. As a junior in high school, being the “new kid” was hard, and I know how important it is that all students feel seen and heard at Westwood.
As a leadership magnet, we work to foster leadership not only in the classroom but also in service to our incredible community. Our accelerated programming in both science and math sets us apart, as does our commitment to growth goals in every content area. Our teachers are truly the best in the business, and I am deeply grateful to lead alongside them in this exceptional community of students, educators, and families.

Hello! Hola! Bonjour! Ciao! My name is MiE – Vincyea Williams. I truly believe that every child is a success story waiting to happen! I’m passionate about providing equitable opportunities for all students and cultivating a learning environment that promotes inclusivity. As a leader, I want to help build an environment where students and teachers can thrive!
It is such a privilege and a honor to serve as the Assistant Principal at the amazing Westwood Jr High School. I look forward to leading the many talented teachers on this campus and helping students grow to meet their full potential. My goal is for ALL students to be happy, to feel seen, to feel heard, and for them to learn at high levels. I grew up in Richardson, Texas originally and I attended Classical Magnet Elementary, West Jr High, and then Richardson High School, so I’m excited to be able to work in a district that feels like home.
This is my 11 year in education. I begin my education career in 2015 as a Math teacher in Las Colinas. In 2020, I received my first opportunity to serve as an assistant principal in Sachse and in 2023 I came back home to Richardson. In my free time I enjoy traveling, reading, and spending time with my family. I’m looking forward to the new school year and being able to connect with the community, support improving learning outcomes for all students, and building meaningful relationships.
