The 1st Battle of the Books Competition was held last Friday. Westwood entered 3 teams: an 8th grade team and two 7th grade teams, who worked hard for the past several months. They met during RTI (Advisory) times, had to read & re-read the 5 books that were chosen as the books for this year. They quizzed each other over the books and worked with the practice questions they were given. Each team created their own poster to represent their team and their team name. There was judging on Best Team Name and Best Poster. All our Westwood teams competed well, but our 8th graders scored the most points in the first 2 rounds and went on to the final round against West. In a tight match, our girls were crowned the champions! We’re so proud of all our teams and as the reigning champions, we hope to be back as champions next year!
