Chargers, it’s almost time for Fall Semester Exams! Please review the schedule below for exam dates and times for December 16–19, 2025.
📌 Important Reminders:
- Student attendance is required for all classes during exam week.
- Exams will not be given early — students must take them at the scheduled time.
- Sack lunches will be provided for students who would like to take a lunch to go on Thursday and Friday.
Please help your students prepare by encouraging good study habits, rest, and planning ahead. We’re looking forward to a strong finish to the semester! 💜⚡
Winter break is on the horizon! Can you smell the hot cocoa yet? But before we can relax and recharge, we have one final hurdle to clear: Semester Exams.
We know this time of year can feel stressful, but at Forest Meadow, we know that preparation is the key to confidence. Whether you are a 6th grader taking your first big exams or an 8th grader looking to finish your junior high career on a high note, you have what it takes to succeed.
Here is your “Charger Battle Plan” to help students prepare effectively and parents support them along the way.
⚡ For Our Chargers: Study Smart, Not Just Hard
Cramming the night before is not the Charger way. Instead, use these strategies to keep your brain sharp and your stress levels low.
1. The “Chunking” Method
Don’t look at the whole mountain; look at the steps. Break your study material down into small, manageable chunks.
- Action: Study one topic for 25–30 minutes, then take a strict 5-minute break (stretch, get water, pet the dog). This keeps your brain fresh.
2. Get Active (With Your Brain)
Reading your notes over and over is actually the least effective way to study. You need to use “Active Recall.”
- Action: Cover up your definitions and try to recite them. better yet, teach the material to someone else (or even to your empty room!). If you can explain it simply, you understand it.
3. Organize Your Arsenal
Before you start studying, make sure you have everything you need.
- Action: Gather your reviews, old quizzes, textbooks, and highlighters. Check your teacher’s schoology page for study guides. Knowing what to study is half the battle.
4. Sleep is Your Superpower
It is tempting to pull an all-nighter, but your brain needs sleep to convert short-term memory into long-term memory.
- Action: Aim for at least 8 hours of sleep during exam week. You will recall facts much faster with a rested brain.
Charger Tip: Don’t hesitate to ask your teachers for help during tutorials! They want you to succeed just as much as you do.
🏠 For Our Parents: Partners in Prep
Watching your student stress over exams is tough. Your goal is to be the “support crew”—providing the right environment without adding to the pressure.
1. Set the Stage
Help create an environment conducive to focus.
- Tip: designate a quiet, well-lit area for studying that is free from distractions (like the TV or video games). If siblings are noisy, help negotiate some “quiet hours.”
2. Fuel the Brain
Studying burns a lot of glucose! A hungry Charger is a distracted Charger.
- Tip: Stock up on healthy snacks like nuts, fruit, yogurt, or cheese. Avoid high-sugar sodas that lead to a crash later. Ensure they eat a solid breakfast on exam days.
3. The “Quiz Master” Role
Offer to help, but wait for the invite.
- Tip: Ask, “Would you like me to quiz you on your vocab words?” If they say yes, keep it light and encouraging. If they get stuck, guide them to the answer rather than just giving it to them.
4. Keep Perspective
The most important thing you can offer is reassurance.
- Tip: Remind your student that while grades are important, their worth is not defined by a test score. A calm, supported student performs better than a panicked one.
Charge On!
We are proud of the hard work our students have put in this semester. Let’s finish this semester with focus, determination, and that signature Forest Meadow spirit.
Good luck, Chargers! You’ve got this!
