As a youngster growing up in south Louisiana, I always knew I’d grow up to be a teacher.  My father was a teacher and my mother worked in the Counseling Office at my school.  I went off to college at Louisiana State University to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.  Just after graduation, I started my teaching career here in RISD 23 years ago at Apollo Junior High.  While teaching at Apollo, I earned a second Master’s Degree in Educational Administration.  Before landing at Dartmouth as Principal, I spent my time as a Literacy Coach, an Instructional Coach, and an Assistant Principal.

When I’m not at school, I love spending time with my family.  My husband, 2 sons, and I spend lots of time at the baseball field.  We also enjoy watching LSU Football, LSU Baseball, and the New Orleans Saints!  We love watching movies, playing board games and playing card games!

I absolutely love serving the students, staff, and families of Dartmouth Elementary.  I’m so very excited for what the 2026-27 school year will bring!  Our theme this year is all things under the sea!  Take a deep breath and dive in!  Together, let’s make some waves🌊

Welcome to Dartmouth Elementary! I’m honored to be serving in my 21st year in education and my 19th year here in the heart of Richardson ISD  a district that has shaped not only my career, but my whole family. All three of my children have attended RISD schools, and my husband and I have been proud to invest in this community and its work for years.

My journey in RISD began in the classroom, where I taught special education for seven years. I then served as a campus behavior specialist for three years before stepping into administration. Every season along the way has deepened my belief in meeting children where they are and helping them grow into confident, compassionate, and capable learners. I’m committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment where every child feels seen, heard, and valued.

I’m a proud Louisiana native, born and raised in Baton Rouge, so I love all things seafood and any excuse to gather around a good meal. When my husband and I aren’t serving in education, you’ll find us enjoying family time with our three children, traveling, and spending time in our community with friends.

As I enter my fifth year at Dartmouth, I can’t wait to continue partnering with our families, championing our students, and building on the momentum of this amazing community. It’s a privilege to serve here, and I look forward to all we’ll accomplish together this year.
