Storybook Pumpkin Patch

decorated pumpkin

Dear Parents and Students,

Dartmouth Library is getting into the fall spirit by sponsoring a Storybook Pumpkin Patch. All students are invited to decorate a pumpkin like their favorite book character. It’s easy and fun! Students may bring in a decorated pumpkin to the school library Monday – Wednesday, October23-25. The pumpkins will be on display in the library for viewing until Friday, October 27. Everyone will vote for their favorite pumpkin on Thursday, October 26th. All pumpkins will need to be taken home on October 27. Everyone is invited to participate.

Guidelines:

● Pumpkins may be painted, hot glued, colored, etc. ABSOLUTELY NO CARVED or PUNCTURED PUMPKINS! Carved pumpkins rot, attract bugs, and smell. Carved pumpkins will be sent home or thrown away.

● Pumpkins must represent a favorite book character. This is a home project and pumpkins should be decorated primarily by the student.

● Pumpkins may be dropped off at school. Carrying the pumpkin inside a bag is recommended.

Please complete the Storybook Pumpkin Tag so we can keep track of the pumpkin creators! Any pumpkin remaining after October 27th will be discarded.

Happy Creating! Think outside the box! Use interesting materials!
