What day is graduation?

Saturday, May 24, 2025 @ 8:00pm

Where is graduation?

Eagle/Mustang Stadium @ 8pm
Doors open at 7:00pm

When & where is the graduation rehearsal?

Friday, May 23 @ 11:30am – Eagle/Mustang Stadium
All students must attend and must ride the bus to and from Eagle Mustang Stadium
Meet in HUB by 11:15am
No cap & gown needed.  Students only.  

What time do graduates have to arrive on graduation day?

@ 6:30pm (No purses, No bags, Arrive dressed in cap & gown)

How long is the graduation ceremony?

Approximately 2 hours

How do I know if I am an “honor graduate”?

Those students that have maintained an overall 90 average or above (9th-12th grade) will qualify to walk as an honor graduate.  We will send an email to all honor graduates with details about purchasing and picking up their stoles.

What about other stoles such as NHS, Mu Alpha Theta, etc.?

Students can reach out to the teacher sponsor of each of these organizations for specifics on costs, distribution, etc. of these stoles.

How do I qualify for the Service Medal Award?

Students must earn 60 hours of verified volunteer hours. Hours must be logged HERE by the district set deadline (April 30th) to qualify.  30 hours can be accumulated between the 9th-11th grade years, and the remaining 30 hours during 12th grade year.

When will I get my Service Medal if I do qualify?

We will send an email to all seniors earning the Service Learning Award with details about picking up their stoles. 

Is there a cost for the Service Medal?

No

Do I have to walk at graduation?

No, but why wouldn’t you?  You’ve worked so hard for this day!

Will there be wheelchair accessible seating?

Yes. It is first come, first served.

What is a “graduation checklist”?

This is a list of items that will need to be completed by each student.  Items include completing transcript & college/career tasks, paying any fees, turning in their district issued Chromebook, charger, cover, etc.  The checklist will be available in the counselor and Mrs. Wildes offices on May 16th.  MPA and graduating juniors do need to complete the checklist.

Will tickets be required to attend graduation?

No, tickets to attend graduation will not be required for the Class of 2025. For guests not able to attend in person, each ceremony will also be live-streamed with the link available on the district’s website.

Will graduates be limited in how many guests they can invite?

No, graduates will not be limited in how many guests they can invite. We do encourage families and guests to carpool as parking will be limited at the stadium and in the surrounding neighborhood.

I have family members out of town that want to see me cross the stage.  Will graduation be live streamed?

In years past, there has been a live stream or recorded video provided digitally for families not in attendance to view. This will be available on the RISD website.

Is there a clear bag policy? 

Yes!  RISD clear bag policy will still be in place.  Review the guidelines HERE.

Are there prohibited items?  Noise makers, etc? 

Yes! No noise makers, balloons, large signs, or anything else that may block other’s view.

May guests bring stadium seats?

Yes!

How much is parking?

Free

Where do students park?

We suggest that graduates get dropped off at their 6:30pm arrival time. If students need to drive, they must park on the streets surrounding the school. Students should NOT park in any parking lots.

Where do guests park?

Guests should park in any campus parking lot or the surrounding streets.

Bus transportation will be provided to and from Eagle/Mustang Stadium starting at 6:00pm in the HUB parking lot of Lake Highlands High School. 

Is there a graduate dress code for graduation?

Nice/comfortable clothing that is not too bulky and sensible shoes that allow for easy walking on turf. No high heels permitted.

Can I decorate my graduation hat? 

No, that is for college graduation.  Decorated hats will be taken and held until after graduation.

Can I wear a cord/stole from an outside organization such as Eagle Scouts, Young Men’s & Women’s Service League, etc?

Yes!

Can I walk across the stage with my country’s flag or banner?

No, this is not permitted per district guidelines.

Can I (the graduate) bring a bag or my purse with me to graduation?

No. Graduates should leave all bags, purses, etc. with their families in the audience or car. If you don’t have pockets, wear a belt bag/fanny pack under your robe for your items.

REMINDER:  SENIORS – DO NOT FORGET ALL OF YOUR GRADUATE ATTIRE…. GOWN, HAT, TASSEL, WHITE STOLE, ANY OTHER STOLES AND/OR CORDS YOU HAVE EARNED!!!
