Greetings Liberty Junior High Stakeholders,
My name is Chris Gibson, and I am honored to introduce myself as the new principal of Liberty Junior High for the 2025-26 school year. With more than 20 years of experience in education, I bring a passion for student success, a commitment to equity, and a track record of fostering inclusive, high-achieving school communities.
Throughout my career, I’ve served as a principal, assistant principal, instructional coach, and classroom teacher. I hold an Education Specialist (Ed.S) degree from Wayne State University, Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from Western Michigan University, and I’m currently pursuing my Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) at Abilene Christian University.
Being a husband and father are two of my greatest accomplishments. I’ve been married to my amazing wife, Monique, for 23 years, and together we have two wonderful children—Olivia (21) and Jonah (17).
As your new principal, I am excited to partner with students, staff, families, and the broader community to ensure Liberty Junior High is a place where every student is empowered to succeed. I look forward to getting to know each of you and working together to build on the strong foundation already in place.
