Liberty Students Empowered at Girls, Inc. “Power 2 The Girls”

Girls Inc FRE and LJH

Girls, Inc. “Power 2 The Girls” did not disappoint on Saturday! Some of our girls from Liberty Junior High and Forestridge Elementary boarded a bus and headed to UTD for the conference. The energy in the building was amazing.

They learned the journey of the keynote speaker, Alena McQuarter, who was a NASA intern and high school graduate at 12! One of them even won a drone; the girls had such a good time that they weren’t ready to leave. In their Unapologetic session, they were encouraged when every person in the room spoke with intentionality, “I don’t shrink, I show up!”

The girls who boarded the bus at Liberty that morning were not the same girls who returned that afternoon. They had elevated confidence and pride in themselves; it was amazing to see it all unfold.
