Celebrating Diversity: Highlights from Our International Showcase Events

This past week, our school community came together to celebrate the wonderfully diverse student population we serve during our International Showcase events. On Thursday, December 5, we hosted a series of activities that highlighted the rich cultural backgrounds of our students, fostering an environment of appreciation and understanding.

One of the standout features of the event was the Living Museum. Students took on the roles of key cultural figures, conducting in-depth research to present their findings from the perspective of these historical icons. This interactive approach not only engaged the participants but also brought history and culture to life in a dynamic way. Visitors moved through the museum, experiencing the stories of remarkable individuals who have shaped our world.

On the opposite side of the library, our Principles of Engineering students showcased their architectural research. They focused on the most prominent countries represented in our student body, creating displays that highlighted significant architectural landmarks. This not only allowed students to delve into the engineering aspects of construction but also emphasized the importance of cultural identity through architecture.

The International Showcase served as a powerful reminder of the beauty found in our differences. It provided a platform for students to express their heritage while learning about others, promoting empathy and respect within our community.

As we reflect on the success of this event, we encourage everyone to continue celebrating diversity in their everyday lives. Whether through education, community engagement, or personal interactions, fostering an inclusive environment benefits us all.
