We are proud to celebrate that Math Science and Technology Magnet (MST) has been named a Certified National Magnet School by Magnet Schools of America (MSA), a national recognition that honors exemplary magnet and theme-based schools across the country. MST and Richardson West Junior High are the first magnet schools in RISD to be certified and join the ranks of only 40 schools certified nationwide this year.
The prestigious certification is awarded to schools that have established strong Standards of Excellence through defined evidence-based practices, reflection, and strategic action that provide high-quality, innovative learning experiences that support student achievement and opportunity available through school choice.
The MSA certification process involves a rigorous evaluation based on five main pillars that define high-quality magnet programs, including: diversity, innovative curriculum and professional development, academic excellence, high-quality instructional systems, and family and community partnerships.
