On October 15th, Pearce High School will be giving the PSAT and the TSI for those who have registered. Because we will have approximately 1,000 students testing, there will be an alternate schedule for the day. Please find the schedule for the day here; links to student testing locations will be added by Friday, October 10th. For Parents: -Because of the importance of these exams, we are unable to interrupt testing environments (except for emergency situations). For this reason, please avoid scheduling appointments or picking students up from school early on this day. -Students will not have access to their email or cell phones while testing is in progress. If you have an emergency or need to get an urgent message to your student, please call the main office. -If your student brings lunch to school, please be sure to send lunch with your student on this day. We will not be able to deliver lunches to testing rooms and students will not be allowed to leave their testing room to get their lunch from the office. All students who are testing need to: -Bring their student ID badge or other photo ID. -Bring a charged chromebook. Note: These tests cannot be taken on personal computers. -Report to their testing rooms by 8:55 AM. TSIA Testers: -Will have lunch in the commons as usual during the lunch shifts on the schedule. -Food and drink are not allowed in the testing room while testing occurs. -More specific information will be provided to testers via email from Candace Carollo. PSAT Testers: -Will eat lunch in their testing rooms. Students may bring their lunch or may order a sack lunch from the cafeteria. Students will NOT be allowed to pick up a lunch from the front office. Please be sure your students has their lunch whenever they arrive at school for the day. -May bring a quiet snack to eat during designated breaks only. 12th Graders/Seniors: -All 12th graders will participate in “All Apply Day”. During this time, counselors and staff will meet with students to help them apply for colleges and scholarships and/or prepare for their goals after graduation. -All 12th graders are expected to attend. Attendance will be taken. -12th Graders who are not regularly scheduled for a 2nd period class may arrive at 10:30 AM, as usual. They will still be assigned a room and will be included in “All Apply Day”! 9th-11th Graders who are NOT testing: -Students will learn-in-place until 2:00 PM. Assignments will be posted to Schoology for students to complete. Students will have access to their Chromebooks. Per state law, students will not have access to their phones. -Attendance will be taken for all class periods. -If parents must pick a student up for an emergency or scheduled appointment, please note that it will take extra time for office staff to locate your student on this day. Please plan accordingly. -Parents: We kindly ask that you do not pick students up unless there is an emergency or a pre-scheduled appointment.
