Robotics

Last weekend the Pearce “The P-51 Mustang” Robotics team competed at their first event in San Antonio, securing a strong finish in the top tier of competitors. Their robot’s performance along with their scouting and networking allowed them to advance to the playoff tournament, being drafted as the highly coveted first pick for the 8th-seeded alliance. In the competitive world of robotics, this means the top-ranked teams recognized the Mustangs as a valuable partner. Unfortunately they were knocked out after the quarter finals. This excellent showing earns them valuable points toward qualifying for the state championship, making it well within reach! They’ve worked hard as a team to organize, design, create, assemble, and program the robot. Other team activities have included applying for team awards, researching supporting grants, and planning outreach events. The team is finishing up their second tournament right now, so stay tuned for more exciting results next week!
