Pearce Parents,
Please read this important message.
Due to significant plumbing and sewage issues at Prestonwood Elementary that are creating unsanitary conditions inside the school, RISD is implementing a reunification protocol: Prestonwood Elementary students are being transported to the Pearce High School Multipurpose Activity Center at 1600 N. Coit Road, and the elementary school is dismissing early today.
The Pearce High School MAC is located at the corner of Senior Way and Mimosa Drive. Parents may park along Mimosa Drive, empty spots outside of the MAC, or empty spots across Senior Way by the tennis courts.
As soon as able, parents or guardians are requested to go to the Pearce HS Multipurpose Activity Centerto pick up your student. Do not go to Prestonwood Elementary, as students are being transported to the Pearce MAC.
- Parents/guardians must bring a photo identification to pick up a student.
- Please follow directions from school and RISD staff upon arrival.
- No student can be released to any person who is not listed on the enrollment card as an emergency contact and verified through a photo ID.
- All students will be supervised and accompanied by school or RISD staff until a parent/guardian or emergency contact is able to pick them up at the PHS MAC.
- Students are being provided lunch at the PHS MAC.
Please continue to actively monitor your phone, email, and text messages if something changes. This process may take some time to fully complete and we thank you for your cooperation and patience as we take the time necessary to ensure student safety until they can be reunified with parents.
