RHS Magnet Communications District Wins

RHS Magnet Communications takes on District competitions, and advances to States!

For the third year in a row, RHS Communications took Gold & Silver in the “Video News Production” category at the SkillsUSA District competition. Each team had to write and produce a 3-minute newscast. BOTH teams move on to the state competition in Corpus Christi.

New this year, we also had a team compete in “Video Production” at SkillsUSA. Our team had 2 hours to shoot on location, then 3 hours to edit a 60 second promotional video for the Texas Rangers Museum & Hall of Fame. This team took GOLD! Qualifying them for states as well.

Another new competition this year for RHS Comms was TSA, Technology Student Association – Our team of 6 had 36 hours to shoot and edit a 60 second story, given specific prompts and props. This was our first year competing and our team took THIRD in districts, qualifying them to move on and compete in the state competition in Fort Worth!

Please congratulate these kids on a job well done. They worked super hard!
