RHS Orchestra Success at Region Auditions!

On Saturday, October 4, auditions were held for the TMEA Region 3 All-Region orchestras. There are two orchestras available for high schoolers to audition for – the String orchestra, which is a 9th and 10th grade group, and the Full orchestra, which is 9th thru 12th grades and is an All-State track group. This year, 30 RHS orchestra students participated in auditions, and we are proud to announce that 8 of our students made it into the orchestras! Of those that made it into the Full orchestra, 5 are planning to continue on to the area audition in two weeks.
A few things of note:
-In RISD, 119 orchestra students auditioned and 36 were awarded positions in the orchestras.
-In the String orchestra, RHS has the highest ranked violist in RISD
-In the Full orchestra, RHS has both the highest ranked violinist and the highest ranked bassist in RISD

We are incredibly proud of these students and look forward to their concert on December 13 at Heath High School!
